Application, Lottery and Acceptance Process
North Side Community School (NSCS) admits students living in the City of St. Louis regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, disability, English language proficiency, gender, or income.
As a neighborhood charter school, we serve students from our specific neighborhood, defined as being within a 3.0 mile radius of our school campus (3033 N. Euclid Ave, St. Louis, MO. 63115). Geographic street boundaries are Skinker (Kienlen) on the west, West Florissant on the north, Vandeventer on the east, and Delmar Blvd. on the south.
Children with siblings already enrolled in NSCS are given preferential treatment.
The NSCS lottery system runs as follows: (dates may change from year-to-year)
1. Initial Enrollment
- Our enrollment system is lottery-based. Enrollment packets will be accepted beginning March 1, 2017. A lottery will be held on the first of each month beginning on April 1, 2017 through July.
- In all circumstances, all accepted applicants will be notified by phone within 48 hours following the lottery drawing. A formal letter of acceptance will be sent home. The family has one week from their date of notification to let the school now of their intent to enroll. If the School has not heard within this seven day period, the student's slot may not be held.
- No student will be considered for any of the lotteries until his or her application is completed and on file in the School office. To be considered complete, an application must include all necessary forms as determined by the School. There will be no exceptions.
- All students who are new to NSCS will be given a grade placement test to ensure the best possible educational experience for each student. Testing dates and times will be determined by the Principal.
